Celebrity JudgesTony Jefferies was born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. He began to box at the age of ten, inspired by his uncle, a former professional boxer. He joined Newcastle Amateur Boxing Club, and in 1999 won the School Boys' Championships and gold in the European Cadets in 2001.At the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships he beat Christopher Downs and Ramazan Magomedov. He also qualified for the 2008 Summer Olympics, becoming the first ever boxer from Tyne and Wear to do so. Jeffries trains in Manchester with the well respected Bobby Rimmer, alongside fighters such as Brian Rose, Jack Arnfield, Jon Kays and Kieran Farrell. Last year he won North-East Sport Personality of the Year. We are delighted to have a true Local Hero to judge this prestigious event.Anh Mao dress maker and proud owner of Mao Couture started in the corner of her garage with two very old sewing machines. Anh has been making dresses since a young age and has had her business up and running for over 16 years. At MaoCouture, which specialises in imaginative, striking and versatile bridal and evening wear, the gowns are made to measure and are all created based on each client’s exact requirements. Anh’s dream is also to have a workshop to help young designers gain experience in the fashion trade.Anh will be making all 24 finalists dresses for the Grand Finale incorporating the 1950’s theme that will run on the evening in her beautiful designs. Kelly Scott born and bred in the North West, co-presents the big drive home for North-East well known radio Station Real Radio with Ben Westen. She has been living and working in the North-East for the past 3 years in the media and has fallen in love with the place. She has recently moved from early mornings to presenting Drivetime with her side kick Ben Weston. Kelly has been a Judge at all of the Miss Sunderland heats and is thrilled to judging the final as well.Ben Weston originally from Cheshire, has been a broadcaster since 1992 and in that time has presented from places as diverse as a Bedouin tent in the Arabian desert to the forests of Wales for the GB Rally. His career started at Marcher Sound in Wrexham before moving to Radio City in Liverpool, Viking FM in Hull and then off to Dubai where Ben helped launch the first commercial radio station in the Gulf. Ben has also Judged all four Miss Sunderland heats and is much looking forward to taking him role at the Noth-Easts answer to Hugh Hefner at the Miss Sunderland final.Alexandra Devine,The current Miss Sunderland has found the job of being Miss Sunderland a dream come true since she was crowned last year at the Stadium of Light.Over the last year she was undertaken a number of roles for Charity and help raise awareness for Grace House Children's Hospice, Alopecia & Breast Cancer to name but a few. She was also modeled for the National Lottery. Alex has and has certainly set the standard for the competition. She is delighted to be on the other side and helping pick this years winner.David Neyler, Sunderland midfielder signed from Irish side Cork City in July 2008 for an undisclosed fee, Meyler quickly established himself at reserve-team level and was drafted into the first-team squad by Steve Bruce following a rash of injuries.The youngster made his senior debut against Blackburn Rovers in December 2009, playing the full 90 minutes. He went on to figure on a total of 12 occasions before being injured just days after penning a new five-year deal with the club.Meyler's stamina, dedication and physical style of play have won praise from manager Bruce, who considers the midfielder to be a key player for the future.
