Simon Robertson

Managing Director of One Voice Productions is no stranger to being in the spotlight. 2009 was a very busy year for him presenting many corporate & charity events.Having worked as a presenter on television & hosting shows & events for over ten years, this will be the second time he has presented Miss Sunderland having also put the event back on the Wearside Calender. Previously he hosted Miss Newcastle 2008. “I am thrilled once again to be hosting Miss Sunderland 2010 and I’m looking forward to working with Pip on it. We have loads of suprises in store for the finalists and best of all we hope to raise more money for two great charities”Other events which Simon has presented are Music Means Life 2008 & most recently hosting and he helped organize Duncan Bannatyne’s 60th birthday celebrations as well as presenting Duncan Bannatyne’s Charitable Trust Ball. He was also the auctioneer at Sir Bobby Robson’s ‘Knight of all Nights’ events where he raised over £70,000..

Philippa Tomson

Philippa Tomson began her journalism career with the Midlands-based Express & Star newspaper when she was just 18-years-old.She cut her teeth on the weekly editions before moving onto the newspaper’s headline Wolverhampton edition. After being appointed chief reporter aged just 23, Pip made the leap into television and joined ITV Central in 2002.She worked as a producer and reporter before becoming a permanent part of the presenting team and regularly co-anchoring Central Tonight. At weekends she also worked as a freelance presenter on the ITV News Channel.In 2006, she joined North East Tonight as co-anchor before later becoming the face of the weather in the Tyne Tees and Border regions. Most recently, Pip has been fronting the national weather forecasts for GMTV live from their London studios.Wherever possible, Pip loves taking the weather outdoors. Her summer series Pip’s Places, where she took to the skies with the Great North Air Ambulance and landed live on air, was a big success with viewers.From doing a sky dive with the Red Devils, swimming with pigs on live television (don’t ask!) or doing the Great North Run with the help of some our best athletes, Pip loves a challenge.She is patron of two North East charities, has her own newspaper column and can be heard as a regular guest host on Metro Radio.In her spare time, Pip loves being outdoors with her dog, running, skiing and reading the newspapers armed with a strong cappuccino and some great company.
